Sustainability

We want commerce on Oloja to be good for people and for Nigeria — economically, socially and environmentally. Here is how we're approaching it.

Supporting the local economy

Every order keeps value inside Nigeria: merchants are paid their full price, riders earn from deliveries in their own communities, and customers can choose local sellers first. Growing local livelihoods is the most important outcome we can aim for.

Packaging

We're working with merchants on our platform to encourage right-sized packaging and to reduce unnecessary single-use plastic where reusable, paper or biodegradable alternatives are practical. This is a direction we're moving in, not a completed standard we can claim today.

Cleaner deliveries

Our delivery network is built around short, city-based trips — often by motorbike — which keeps the distance travelled per order low. We aim to batch and route deliveries efficiently to avoid unnecessary journeys.

Responsible data handling

We aim to handle personal data lawfully and transparently. Trust is part of how we think about sustainability: see our Privacy Policy for details on how we handle your data.
